Role
The Parliamentary Counsel’s Office provides comprehensive legislative drafting and related services to the Western Australian State Government, its departments and agencies to ensure legislation is prepared to effect Government policy and priorities. The Parliamentary Counsel’s Office also provides drafting services to private members of Parliament.
We are seeking someone with the relevant skills and knowledge to manage the editorial and publication processes and resources of the Parliamentary Counsel's Office and oversee the process by which legislation is drafted, published and introduced into Parliament. An understanding of the legislative process is essential as is a proven track record in managing human, physical and technological resources including complex databases. The position involves extensive proof reading and will appeal to someone with a keen eye for detail. This is an opportunity to work in a professional environment supporting the lawyers who draft the laws of Western Australia as well as playing a major role in providing access to these laws to the legal profession and general public
