The position
The Information Services Branch of the Department of Mines and Petroleum is seeking a recent graduate (degree to be completed in the current or preceding year) with a Bachelor of Science, or an approved equivalent, with a focus in Computer Science.
A high achieving IT enthusiast, you will bring your exceptional people and communication skills to the Branch, assist with projects and use your problem solving and technical skills to take on complex challenges. Initial employment is on a fixed term contract with provision for permanent appointment following successful completion of the first twelve months. At the end of the program, you will return to a position in the Information Services Branch.

In order to be considered for this position you must provide the following:
• A copy of your academic record and evidence of your bachelor degree in Science, or an approved equivalent degree, with a focus in Computer Science (completed in the current or preceding calendar year).
• Your CV including the names and contact details of two referees.
• A cover letter which outlines why you are interested in working at the Department of Mines and Petroleum and how it fits with your career aspirations.
• A description (maximum of one page) of your role in a project (university assignment is ok) that you have undertaken or participated in that demonstrates your ability to think critically and undertake analysis to reach a position.
Please note that completion of a National Police Clearance will form part of the selection process.
