ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Child Protection Worker Placement Support provides professional fostering services to individuals, groups and communities. This role supports the continued evolution of the assessment (of carers) practice, in conjunction with the Service Delivery Practice Unit.
While this position is based in Albany, travel within the District may be required.
Key responsibilities of the position include the provision of advice and expertise on issues related to fostering including:
- Recruitment and assessment of foster carers.
- Information and learning for foster carers.
- Retention and support of carers within and across Districts.
- Facilitation of support to fostering applicants and to foster carers, promoting practice in line with the Department’s foster care partnership model.
CONDITIONS
This is a permanent full time opportunity.
Suitable applicants for this position may be considered for future similar vacancies that may arise within the next twelve (12) months.
To be considered for this position you MUST have a university degree (Bachelor or Masters) in:
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Bachelor of Psychology or
- relevant Human Services area.
NOTE: If you have a relevant Human Services qualification you will need to supply unit descriptions/summaries for assessment against the Qualifications Framework.
All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency by Overseas Qualifications Unit, AEI-NOOSR or AASW and the outcome evidence provided at the time of applying.
Additionally we require:
- substantiated evidence of your eligibility to live and work in Australia
- Working with Children Check (WWC)
- see section 7 of the JDF for additional pre-employment requirements
A criminal record check and departmental check will be conducted prior to commencement.
