North Lake Senior Campus is seeking to appoint a confident and talented teacher to our Intensive English Centre with a focus on Integrated Science and Humanities and Social Sciences.
If you have excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills and promote an environment of active and positive learning, this could be the job for you. The successful applicant will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students within an organised and supportive Intensive English Centre with students from a limited schooling, trauma or humanitarian visa backgrounds. Successful candidates will, in addition to having the requisite senior secondary learning area discipline and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teaching experience and TESOL qualification, possess a genuine desire to help students with special needs from diverse cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds.
This challenging position requires teachers to interact with non-native English speaking students, whilst sensitively balancing the needs of those with limited formal schooling and disadvantaged backgrounds against highly academic fee-paying international students with more demanding outcomes. Through your application, candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to implement and provide an individual case management approach to student learning, behavior and career development. You will have highly developed conceptual and analytical skills that demonstrate an ability to identify and clarify issues and problems experienced by young people and generate strategies to address them.
North Lake SC is a multicultural senior campus that has an adult ethos.
