The Department of Corrective Services works to protect rehabilitate and serve in order to achieve its mission of ensuring a safer community. The Strategic Planning and Policy directorate shapes policy options, manages flagship projects to drive innovation and leads implementation of key reforms aligned to the Department’s strategic plan. The directorate also manages key relationships across Government and with the not-for-profit sector, provides strategic policy advice to Government and ensures alignment with the Government’s agenda.
Role
Level 5
The Policy Officer provides assistance to the branch in the research, evaluation and analysis of a range of policy initiatives. As a part of the Strategic Policy Directorate the position will undertake a variety of activities that will assist to shape and manage the Departments strategic agenda.
Level 6
The Senior Policy Officer provides assistance and support to the Assistant Director in the research and development and implementation of a range of complex strategic reform initiatives. The position will undertake comprehensive strategic research and analysis to shape and manage the Department’s strategic agenda.
Level 7
The Principal Policy Officer takes a lead role in the development and review of agency-wide change management policies, strategies and guidelines, as well as managing the high level coordination of, and contribution to, strategic reform initiatives across the Department. The role ensures that there is an alignment with key strategic directions and policy priorities and promotes the integration of policy into the planning of organisational outcomes.
