Do you possess practical experience in the operation of diesel powered railcars and/or locomotives?
Transwa is the regional arm of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and a direct provider of public transport services to meet the needs of regional Western Australia. It provides passenger train services between Perth and Bunbury, East Perth and Kalgoorlie, East Perth and Merredin and East Perth and Northam.
In this role you will operate railcars in either single or multiple consists in a safe and effective manner and carry out examinations on passenger trains including the conducting of brake and continuity testing. You will also prepare reports in relation to railcar/vehicle/rollingstock defects, accidents, incidents and irregularities.
To be successful for this role you will possess current, significant and practical experience in the operation of diesel powered railcars and/or locomotives.
The recommended applicant will be based in East Perth as the service originates and terminates in East Perth, however you may need to work temporarily at other Transwa Depots as the need arises.
You will be required to work shift work and/or weekend work and public holidays as required to a 24 hour 7 day roster and be prepared to accept periods away from home.
