Looma Remote Community School (RCS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Manager Corporate Services to join our exceptional school support team.
The Manager Corporate Services is responsible to the Principal for the management of the day-to-day financial, physical and human resource aspects of the school's business operations and supervises all school support staff. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and be efficient, self-motivated and flexible. Experience with RM Finance, INTEGRIS and HRMIS would be an advantage.
Looma RCS is located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia approximately 130 kilometres south east of Derby, some 30 kilometres south of the main Derby to Fitzroy Crossing Highway.
The school services the Looma Aboriginal Community (approx. 390-410 people) and the town of Camballin (approx. 30-40 people) approximately fifteen minutes from the school. The Looma Community is built at the base of the picturesque Grant Range and the school enjoys magnificent vistas of the surrounding hills and rock formations that give Looma its name.
The School strives for excellent parent-teacher-community support through an open door communication policy, active partnership with the community based Looma Education Committee that maintains vital links between the school and community by providing an open forum for school decision making and a 'Memorandum of Understanding' which is a shared responsibility agreement that addresses key issues within the community and school.
Please note there is no GROH (Government Regional Officers Housing) associated with this position.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Relevant financial management skills, including input into budget preparation and the ability to apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
- Human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
- Ability to implement and monitor business and/or marketing plans.
- Conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within
six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
