The Department of Fisheries manages Western Australia’s marine and freshwater fisheries and the habitats on which they depend. We aspire to be recognised and respected by the WA community for our leadership in fisheries and aquatic resource management. By working with the community and key stakeholders, the Department’s mission is to conserve, sustainably develop and share the fish and other living aquatic resources of WA, for the benefit of present and future generations.
There is currently one (1) Level 5 Workforce Planning and Reporting Officer position. This is a fixed term opportunity for up to 8 months with possible extension, whilst the substantive occupant is on maternity leave. The position is available for filling either full time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (minimum of 22.5 hours per week).
Please note, interviews will be held the week commencing 13 June 2016.

Secondment applications are also encouraged however Permanent Public Sector employees should check with their Department/Supervisor for possible ‘release’ approval prior to submitting their application.
Should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. This option remains valid for a period of six (6) months from the end of the review period.
Possibility of permanency or subsequent contracts of employment may be offered subject to business requirements.

The role of the Workforce Planning and Reporting Officer is to collect and analyse data to inform Workforce Planning processes and organisational decision making. The position assists the Branch to develop and prioritise workforce initiatives, identify risks and resource requirements and develop solutions.
The position provides input into strategy and policy development, implementation and evaluation, supporting continuous improvement in service delivery and organisational performance. The position develops, coordinates production and disseminates Human Resources reporting in collaboration with the People Services Branch.
