Lynwood Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an energetic Teacher of Health and Physical Education to a full time position. We are seeking a dedicated, passionate and highly effective teacher who has a deep understanding of, and demonstrated experience with a diverse range of students in a dynamic Health and Physical Education faculty. Experience teaching students across 7-12 is highly desirable, as with experience teaching students with limited English.
The successful applicant will possess an ability to work with a vibrant team of to enhance the delivery and oversight of a range of opportunities for students and is expected to be proactive and innovative in the delivery of a range of Health and Physical Education programs.
Lynwood SHS caters for students with different educational interests and requirements in order to pursue their careers in life, as well as providing a sound values education. The school’s multicultural environment is nurtured through positive values of tolerance and respect for others.
Lynwood SHS has a recognised Specialist Academic Program in Environment and Life Sciences, a Specialist Academy in Soccer and offers courses that provide pathways to academic excellence, practical and vocational competence. Some of our vocational directions include; Engineering, Building and Construction, Sport and Recreation, Media and Visual Arts and Child Care. An awareness of the importance of being physically active sustained by good health is also emphasised.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
