Perth Modern School is seeking to appoint an innovative and passionate LOTE – Italian Teacher to join our friendly team in Semester 2.
The successful applicant will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school approach to the educational programs offered in the school. We are seeking a Teacher with experience in teaching LOTE – Italian at year 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level. The successful applicant will be able to assist students to achieve high level educational outcomes. The successful applicant will also have strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a team environment.
Perth Modern School is Western Australia's only fully academically selective school for gifted students in Years 7 to 12. Centrally located in Subiaco, the School provides a differentiated and compacted curriculum that develops the individual skills and abilities of academically gifted students. Teachers are expected to provide extension and enrichment so our high ability students are continually engaged and challenged. Teachers are also expected to support the social and emotional wellbeing of gifted students through the comprehensive Advocacy program.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
