Baynton West Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic qualified Physical Education/Health teacher to join their team.
As a teacher at Baynton West PS, you will play a key role in contributing to a vibrant, dynamic school culture that focuses on whole school approaches and student performance. We are seeking a reflective, motivated teacher, dedicated to making a positive contribution to the students at our school.

As a Physical Education teacher at Baynton West PS, you will be an integral member of a team that is responsible for the organisation of various school carnivals and interschool carnivals throughout the year. Some of the activities include Cross Country, Athletics, Cricket and the Winter Carnival. You will work in collaboration with a highly motivated network of Physical Education/Health teachers in the Karratha region to develop programs, moderate assessments and organise various events.
Baynton West is a new suburb of Karratha in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. In the local Aboriginal language, Karratha is said to mean 'Sacred Earth'. The town is situated in the Shire of Roebourne. Karratha's economic base includes the iron ore operations of the Rio Tinto Group, sea-salt mining, ammonia export operations, North West Shelf Natural Gas Project, Australia's largest natural resource development and the newest Natural Gas Project.
Karratha is located approximately 1,500 kilometres north of Perth and 850 kilometres south of Broome on the North West Coastal Highway. Karratha is composed of nine main suburbs of which Baynton West is the newest.
Baynton West is a family orientated area, in a region where the demographic average age is 9 years old and that families are considered larger than the majority of other regions in Australia. The community involvement at Baynton West PS is considerable and parents/caregivers feel a strong
Baynton West PS opened as an Independent Public School in 2013 and is currently a Regional Teacher Development School.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
