Cecil Andrews Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to a dedicated and enthusiastic STEM (Science, Mathematics and ICT) Teacher to join their friendly team.

The successful applicant will have an excellent capacity to communicate clearly and concisely with all parts of the school, articulating a clear vision that complements and supports the school’s excellent culture in teaching and learning. Excellent knowledge of all levels (years 7-12) of the curriculum area and how this can address the needs of our students is highly desirable.
From 2017 Cecil Andrews SHS will become a Centre of Academic Excellence. Funding of some $5 million has been committed for this to be implemented. Cecil Andrews SHS is looking for suitable applicants that will be part of the School’s Professional Learning Community, be innovative with a focus on ICT, be a highly effective communicator, be able to facilitate scope and sequence of Australian Curriculum and have advanced curriculum knowledge.It would be highly regarded that candidates have experience in academic extension and enrichment programs as well as ATAR teaching experience.
Cecil Andrews SHS, an Independent Public School, is situated in Seville Grove. The school boasts excellent facilities including STEM Laboratories and other cutting edge resources. In order to cater for the academic needs of highly able students, Cecil Andrews provides Academic Extension Programs in mathematics and science and humanities.
Cecil Andrews SHS is one of four Western Australian schools selected to participate in an exciting national research project being undertaken by RMIT: Restructuring Mathematical Futures.
Cecil Andrews SHS is a Teacher Development School (TDS) for STEM Innovation and Technologies for 2016 and 2017. The TDS program is a Department of Education initiative that shares teacher expertise across schools and provides teachers state wide with quality professional learning support. All staff at Cecil Andrews SHS form an active part of the TDS team, and participate in the development and delivering of professional learning.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Mathematics or Science). Only applicants in the pool possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
