Are you an experienced Rail Linesperson?
Want the opportunity to work with Australia’s leading public transport provider?
The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is responsible for the operation of all bus, train and ferry public transport services in the greater Perth metropolitan area under the Transperth brand. We also operate public transport services in regional centres, operate road coach and rail passenger services to regional areas under the Transwa brand, and administer and manage School Bus Services (SBS). In addition to operating these transport services, we are responsible for designing, building and maintaining public transport infrastructure.
Every day, hundreds of thousands of people rely on us to get them where they need to be. And while we have sophisticated trains, buses and ferries, our most important resource are the people who work here.
About this opportunity
We currently have a number of Perth based vacancies for experienced Rail Linespersons within our Urban Electrical Overhead team. As an experienced Linesperson, you will perform a wide range of tasks associated with the ongoing maintenance of our Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) across the urban metropolitan rail system.
As part of a large organisation in a rapidly-growing sector, we offer excellent job security and stability, and our commitment to providing a reliable service for our passengers means you will have the opportunity to contribute to a public service that many West Australians interact with on a daily basis.
We pride ourselves on our friendly and professional working environment and offer our staff a range of benefits, including free travel on all metropolitan public transport and opportunities for further development and training through our Registered Training Organisation.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made to current vacancies and as vacancies arise over the next six (6) months.
About you
This is a great opportunity for experienced Linespersons wishing to continue their career in the rail industry with a leading provider of public transport in Australia.
With relevant linesperson competence and experience in a rail environment, you will also have good mechanical aptitude and the ability to carrying out maintenance work at moderate heights. Sound literacy, numeracy, communication and computer skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team are also important in this role. It is also essential that you have a current unrestricted C Class WA driver’s licence and the ability to undertake shift work (including nights). For appointment at Level 4 and 5, you will also have exposure to supervising a team and can demonstrate the skills to lead and manage others.
Your commencement salary/level will be dependent on your skills, competence and experience (as outlined in the attached Linesperson appointment requirements and Linesperson Pathway Program).
Please note that we are also advertising for Trainee Linesperson and your application may also be considered for these positions. For more information on Trainee Linesperson, please search Reference Number 30078.
