The Department of Fisheries manages Western Australia’s marine and freshwater fisheries and the habitats on which they depend. Our vision is for the world class management of fisheries and aquatic ecosystems. By working with the community and key stakeholders, the Department’s mission is to conserve, sustainably develop and share the fish and other living aquatic resources of WA, for the benefit of present and future generations.
There is currently one (1) Level 6 Senior Employee Relations Consultant position available for filling on a full time basis working 75 hours per fortnight either as a permanent opportunity (transfer at level) or for a period of 12 months (secondment or acting opportunity).
OTHER CONDITIONS
In accordance with the external recruitment freeze announced on 21 December 2015, this vacancy is only open to current permanent (general government) public sector employees as a transfer/secondment/acting opportunity. The role of the Senior Employee Relations Consultant is to provide professional consultancy services on complex employee relations and workplace reform matters. They investigate, formulate and implement strategic, proactive and innovative employee relations and human resource policies and strategies to promote positive and effective workplace relations.
The successful applicant will take a lead role in negotiating the renewal of the Department of Fisheries’ Agency Specific Agreement.
