Level 7, SOA, $119,390 $136,566 pa plus 9.5% superannuation
This position is fixed term (24 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency) and project based for projects within the Public Transport Authority's Major Projects Unit. It has capital funding that does not impact general government operating expenditure, therefore is open to the general public.

The Major Projects Unit (MPU) is a division of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and we are looking for an experienced Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role you will enjoy working in a friendly, team-focused working environment that values a safe approach to working.
You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership on all aspects of Safety Management and Quality systems for Major Projects to achieve PTA’s Corporate Objectives. MPU delivers high risk, high value projects on behalf of the PTA and is expected to achieve delivery safely, on time and within budget.
You will report on significant projects within MPU to ensure that they are undertaken within the PTA’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System and to the highest standards of safety performance in order to achieve the “as low as reasonably practicable” (ALARP) objective. Further you will monitor and maintain systems and procedures to ensure conformance to the appropriate safety legislation framework and applicable standards.
