Cyril Jackson Senior Campus Education Support Centre (CJSCESC) is seeking an Education Support Teacher for a classroom-based position in a Senior Campus Education Support Centre. The successful applicant will be required to teach a class of Senior Secondary-aged students with intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and challenging behaviour.
The applicant will be responsible for setting Individual Education Plans, teaching to specific student objectives, and monitoring, assessing and reporting against these objectives. The position requires previous experience in leading ASDAN modules, Bushranger Cadet programmes and Wastewise Initiatives. The position requires expertise in Functional Behaviour Analysis, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Direct Instruction programmes, visual and AAC strategies for students with ASD, TEACCH structures, behaviour management and restorative justice principles, and knowledge of WACE Preliminary Courses for students with disabilities.
The successful applicant will be an experienced Education Support teacher who is able to ensure effective working relationships with Education Assistants, Social Trainers, and Senior Campus staff, within the context of a small Senior Campus Education Support Centre. The applicant will need effective communication skills to liaise with parents.
CJSCESC is uniquely co-located on a Senior Campus, and provides a supportive, inclusive and adult-oriented environment for students with disabilities. It promotes an adult ethos, fosters social skills, and assists students in their preparation for an independent adult life.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
